Candles
You can extend the life of your scented candles and enjoy their beautiful fragrance for longer with a few simple techniques.
Trim the Wick
Before lighting your scented candle for the first time and before each subsequent lighting please ensure that the wick is trimmed to approximately 5mm in height (1/2cm). A longer wick can cause the wax to melt faster and unevenly as well as cause the wick to smoke. By keeping the wick short, the burn will be more controlled and can extend the overall burn time of your candle.
Burn times
As well as trimming your wick, when lighting your candle for the first time and for subsequent uses allow it to burn long enough for the entire surface to melt, i.e. so that the melted wax surface reaches the edges of the candle container. This is normally around 2 hours of burning for our candle jars and this practice will help prevent tunnelling which is where the wax only melts in the middle leaving unmelted wax round the edges of your jar. This is because wax has a memory so it will tend to only burn across the surface of the candle to where it got to on the previous burn. Longer burn times of 2 to 3 hours but no more than 4 hours help prevent tunnelling and maximise your candles lifespan. For safety reasons always extinguish your candle when 5mm of wax remains and do not relight. Ideally use a candle snuffer as blowing out your scented candle can create smoke and disturb the wax pool.
Candle Placement
Place your candle in an area where it's protected from draughts. Air currents can cause the flame to flicker and burn unevenly which will cause your candle to burn too quickly. Keep doors and windows closed and place your candle away from fans or vents to keep it burning steadily. Also always place it on a stable heatproof surface away from anything that can catch fire. Ensure it is somewhere it cannot be knocked over and always out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Keep your scented candle clean
For optimal burn performance keeping your candle clean is very important. A clean candle will burn more efficiently keeping your scented candle burning at it’s best. Regularly remove any wick trimmings or debris from the wax pool to prevent them from interfering with the flame. Ideally keep your candle covered when not in use to prevent dust accumulating on the surface of the wax. If you are not going to be using your candle for a while you can pop the candle back in it’s box to keep it clean.
Storage
By storing your candles properly, you can preserve their lovely scent and maintain their quality, so that they burn at their best. When your scented candle is not in use, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight as the sun and heat can soften the wax and cause the fragrance to evaporate faster. Try not to store them for extended periods of time to make the most of their fragrance.

Wax Melts
Usage
Remove all packaging and place your wax melt in the dish of a suitable wax burner. Refer to the packaging to see how much of your wax melt is recommended to use at a time, but make sure that you do not overfill your burner. Use an unscented tealight, such as our soy wax tealights. Never add water to the wax. As the burner slowly warms up, the wax melt will turn to liquid in the dish and it’s fragrance will be released into the air. Don’t forget your wax burner will get HOT. Once your burner is lit or switched on do not move it. Even after the flame has been extinguished or it has been switched off it may take some time to cool so please handle your burner with caution. Once the burner is cool, the wax will solidify in the dish ready to be used again. Once the scented oils in a wax melt have evaporated then the wax melt will no longer smell as strongly. The time this takes to happen will vary on the size of the wax melt, the intensity of the heat from your burner and other factors. As a general rule a single piece of wax melt will continue to release its fragrance for 6-12 hours. Depending on the size of your room and the movement of the air, you may only need to use your burner for one or two hours but do not use for more than 4 hours at a time to avoid your burner overheating. Melted wax does not evaporate; only the scent dissipates, so once all the scent has gone then you can remove the used wax from your oil burner and use a fresh wax melt. Our wax liners are great for this as they reduce the clean up and mean you can swap between scents more easily. You can reuse the wax as many times as you want until the fragrance dissipates. If the scent has faded re-use the wax for other things or if not don’t worry our wax melts are biodegradable!
Storage
Your wax melts will arrive in a glassine bag or glassine lined box. These bags/boxes are great to store your remaining wax in as they do not draw the scent out of the melts. Always store in a dry and cool place, out of any sunlight. Try not to store them for extended periods of time to make the most of their fragrance.
Never leave a burning candle unattended, always keep burners away from children, pets, draughts and never move a burner while lit.

Car Diffusers
Unscrew the cap and remove the plastic bung, you can now fill your bottle. We recommend using gloves for this and make sure you fill it over a sink or other suitable surface in case of any spillages. Give the refill bottle a light shake to make sure the fragrance is well mixed in the carrier and using either the dropper on the bottle or the funnel provided pour fragrance from the refill bottle into the car diffuser, you do not need to fill it to the very top. Make sure to firmly close the refill bottle so that it is sealed and ready for the next time you need to refill your diffuser. Firmly screw the wooden cap back onto the bottle. You then activate the fragrance by tipping the bottle on it’s side for a few seconds which allows some of the fragrance to seep into the wooden cap. Do not tip it all the way upside down as this will cause too much liquid to go into the cap and may leak out of the holes where the strings are attached. You can then tie the bottle using the strings to a suitable place such as in your car or even by your bedside as they work great in any small space, but keep away from fabrics as the fragrance oils may stain. When you notice the smell starting to fade you can quickly tip the bottle on it’s side for a couple of seconds which will saturate the cap again with scent. Make sure periodically, ideally each time before you tip the bottle to refresh the scent, that you give the lid a quick tighten as movement of the bottle can loosen the cap over time and we don't want any spillages! When the bottle is running low use the refill bottle to top it up as required following these instructions. The refill bottle will fully fill your car diffuser just over 3 times and will provide months of long lasting scent. How long will depend on how frequently you tip the bottle as this will cause it to evaporate quicker. Please note that the colour of fragrance and essential oils may vary so they will not always be clear. When you need another refill you can find these on our website.

Room Sprays
Always give your room spray a good shake prior to use to make sure the fragrance is well mixed in the base.
Spray a few times up into the air, away from your eyes and face.
Avoid contact with polished or wooden surfaces/hard floorings.
The spray is also suitable as a linen spray, but please perform a patch test on any fabric before using to ensure there is no staining or discolouration. To use as a linen spray lightly spritz approximately 10cm away from the fabric.
Refresh the scent as needed.
Keep put of reach of children and pets.
