Our commitment to ethical and sustainable practices

Candles & wax melts:

Candle jars: Our stylish candle jars are handblown glass and can be recycled or even better reused or repurposed for other things.

Wicks: Our wicks are vegan and cruelty free. Made from pure cotton intertwined with a twisted thread of paper. No chemicals used. Our wicks are not bleached nor treated with any substance such as chlorine. The metal sustainers are also recyclable.

Tealights: Our aluminium tealight cups can be recycled after use and contain our eco friendly soy wax and cotton wicks with a recyclable sustainer.

Dyes: We use eco friendly dyes for our candles and wax melts. They are non-toxic made from organic vegan materials, not tested on animals and do not contain sulphates, phthalates.

Mica powders, glitters and botanicals: We use mica powder to colour some of our wax melts which is non-toxic, vegan and cruelty free. Our glitters are bioglitters that are a biodegradable plant-based alternative to traditional glitters. Rather than being made from plastic like in traditional glitters it is derived from a biodegradable substrate made from trees, usually eucalyptus, and sourced from responsibly managed plantations and contains low levels of heavy metals. It is designed to biodegrade quickly and safely and is also vegan-friendly and GMO free. Our botanicals such as our rose buds are high quality natural products and are ethically sourced.

Our eco-friendly, ethical, vegan soy wax:

Our UK produced soy wax is biodegradable, vegan friendly and palm free. No animal products are used and no animal testing has been carried out in its manufacture. The soy used in our waxes is sourced from North America and Brazil from purely ethical and non-genetically modified sources. A full supply chain audit has been carried out and only ethical suppliers have been chosen that do not contribute to de-forestation.

Fragrances:

Our premium fragrances not only smell amazing but are vegan and cruelty free. Designed to be as simple, clean and natural as possible whilst delivering the best scent throw and the best range of scent notes. Our fragrance oils are phthalate and paraben free and our essential oils and essential oil blends are made from completely natural essential oil, bottled in the UK.

Our eco-friendly and vegan products are handmade with love in Sussex with a fun lyrical twist in every creation. We are committed to sustainable practices, utilizing natural materials that are safe for your home and the environment. At Lyrical Scents we are committed to sustainably sourcing our products and materials using as little plastic as possible. As well as making products that are cruelty free we strive to use items that are recycled, re-usable and/or recyclable and below is some information about the efforts we have made to ensure our products are as sustainable as possible.

Diffusers & Room Sprays:

Diffusers: Our diffusers use glass bottles which can be reused many times by purchasing one of our refill kits. The reeds are fibre reeds as we find these perform better than rattan reeds. They are made of natural materials, vegan and recyclable. The diffuser base is non toxic, vegan and biodegradable. Our diffuser refills use aluminium bottles which are reusable or recyclable and mean that you can get many more uses out of your glass diffuser bottle making them even more sustainable.

Car Diffusers: These are made from glass and wood and can be reused time and again with our handy refills that are also recyclable.

Room sprays:

Our room sprays use our recyclable aluminium bottles. The atomiser unfortunately has to be plastic, but the bottle and spray will be reusable if you wish to repurpose them or we give the option to exclude the spray top so when you buy future room sprays you can reuse your existing atomiser and save on the extra plastic.

Incense sticks, cones and extras:

Incense: Not all incense is created equal and can be full of nasty chemicals as well as using child labour to produce them. Our incense sticks, incense cones and backflow cones are all plant based, cruelty free, use no child labour, contain no harmful chemicals and even come in recyclable boxes.

Extras: Our extras found in our gift boxes are sourced using our same values, such as our rose quartz is ethically sourced and our worry dolls are ethically sourced and fair trade so everybody wins.

Packaging:

Labels, cards and care guides: Our labels are made in the uk, vegan, recycled and recyclable. Any cards we include such as gift cards, tags and care guides are printed using vegetable inks on 100% recycled kraft paper or card and are fully recyclable.

Candle boxes: Our candle boxes are made of 100% recycled kraft paper and can be recycled afterwards.

Glassine: Our glassine bags and sheets that we use to package our wax melts are made of 100% paper which are recyclable, compostable, biodegradable and made in the UK.

Bags: Our bags are made from GOTS Certified 5oz Organic Cotton and are ethically sourced, extremely environmentally friendly as well as being reusable time and again. The benefits of organic cotton is that it uses no polluting pesticides, saves precious water, creates healthier soil and being ethically sourced helps farmers feed their families. They are finished off with one of our logo stamps using vegan and cruelty free ink.

Tape: All tape we use to make up our packaging is eco-friendly and vegan.

Packaging boxes: All of our packaging boxes are made from recycled or responsibly sourced materials and can be reused or are recyclable and biodegradable.

Packing: Our eco-friendly and cruelty free paper packing used in our gift boxes is made from recycled materials and can be recycled. We sometimes use packing peanuts in our outer boxes and this is eco and biodegradable.

Tissue paper: Our tissue paper is made from 100% recycled materials, is acid free and made in the UK. It is recyclable, biodegradable & compostable.
